Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about our Direct Primary Care services?
Check out the answers to our most frequently asked questions below.
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care is a healthcare model where you pay a monthly membership fee for comprehensive primary care services. It’s like a subscription for your healthcare, giving you direct access to your nurse practitioner.
What makes Compri Health special?
At Compri Health, we combine flexible primary care with behavioral change. Sarah Bragdon is an experienced NP with MSc in behavioral science from the London School of Economics. We believe your habits matter as much as your lab values. Whenever possible, we want to help you solve health problems without medications.
Looking for primary care? We provide all the support and flexibility you’d expect from an attentive, neighborhood care provider.
Looking for habit help? As an applied behavioral scientist and NP, I’m not a health coach. I’m a medical provider additionally trained in the science of behavior, decision-making, and change. Our one-time consults and behavior change intensives are designed to make effective change that sticks, one habit at a time.
What services are included in my membership?
Your DPC membership includes preventive care, chronic disease management, sick/injury visits, wellness exams and more. It also covers communication with your nurse practitioner via phone, text, email, telehealth, and office visits.
Can I still use my health insurance with DPC?
Absolutely! Direct Primary Care is not a health insurance substitute. We encourage all our members to have health insurance. We use your insurance to cover prescriptions, labs, imaging, or seeing a specialist. Virginia state law requires that all DPC agreements state: This agreement does not provide comprehensive health insurance coverage. It provides only the provision of primary care as specifically described in this agreement.
How much does a DPC membership cost?
Our monthly membership fee is straightforward and affordable. For specific pricing, please visit our Pricing Page.
Is there a limit to how many times I can see my nurse practitioner?
No, there is no limit. Your membership fee covers as many visits as you need, whether in person, by phone, or through telehealth.
What if I need to see a specialist?
Your nurse practitioner can refer you to a trusted specialist if needed. We will do our best to help you find a professional who is the best fit for your needs.

What are the benefits of DPC for employers?
Employers can offer DPC as a benefit to their employees, helping reduce sick days and improve overall productivity. It’s a cost-effective way to ensure your team stays healthy and productive. See our Employer page for more details.
What urgent care services do you provide?
We handle urgent care needs like COVID-19, strep, and flu tests, laceration repairs, illness visits, and other acute issues. This helps reduce the need for emergency room visits and keeps you and your family healthy.
Is DPC compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flex Spend Acounts (FSA)?
Yes, our fees are compatible with Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and Flex Spend Accounts (FSA). While a DPC membership is a qualified medical expense, we recommend paying quarterly with an HSA for best practice. Always consult your tax professional to be sure about your specific situation.
How does DPC improve my healthcare experience?
With DPC, you get personalized, attentive care without the rush. You have direct access to your nurse practitioner, longer appointment times, and the convenience of contacting them via phone, text, or email whenever you need.
