What We Do Differently

Your life is full with work, family commitments, and then your own health needs. You don’t have time for vague, try harder advice. We get that.

We start by understanding how your days actually run: when you’re fueling, when you’re moving, when stress peaks, and where your body is working harder than it needs to. From there, we help you make small, targeted adjustments that support your energy and your long-term health.

Understanding your body

1 — Why does my energy feel unpredictable?

Most people assume energy problems mean something is wrong.

Some days feel sharp and capable.
Other days feel foggy, fragile, or oddly effortful for no clear reason.

That swing sometimes happens because your nervous system is always trying to predict what’s coming next.

It’s scanning for patterns:
Will there be fuel?
Will today demand more than yesterday?
Can I count on recovery tonight?

When meals are skipped, stress runs long, sleep varies, and effort never quite lets up, your system can’t find a reliable pattern. The unpredictability itself becomes a kind of stressor — and the body makes active tradeoffs that narrow your options. Not broken — just adapting.

Predictable inputs create predictable days.
You can’t optimize chaos, but you
can create structure your body trusts.

You could push through another restrictive plan and hope things improve eventually.
Or you could support your body
now — and let steadier energy make change possible with less force.

2 — When the pattern persists

A few days or weeks of stressful tradeoffs, the body can handle just fine.

But when the pattern persists — months, years — people often notice quieter signals:
vacations that don’t restore, attention that’s harder to hold, energy that doesn’t rebound the way it used to. ‘Burnout’ or ‘brain fog’ are terms we hear.

At this point, adding more diet and exercise often backfires. Why? It puts more demand placed on a human that’s already compensating as well as they can.

Relief doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from reducing how much adaptation the body has to perform just to get through the day.

Remember: your nervous system is always preparing for what comes next.
When fuel arrives regularly, when sleep becomes more reliable, when movement supports rather than depletes, the system stops bracing.

That shift doesn’t require a reset or a perfect plan — just regular nourishment, and rhythms that repeat often enough to feel safe.

When the system has what it expects, people notice:

  • fewer crashes

  • steadier mood

  • better recovery

  • easier starts

  • more “I’ve got this” days

Not perfection — just consistency the body can rely on.

3 — How Compri Health helps

We don’t guess. And we don’t add strain to an already strained system.

Our goal is to identify the largest biological bottleneck — the place where your body is working hardest to compensate — and reduce the load there first.

For some people, that means addressing irregular fueling patterns that drive hepatic insulin resistance. Instead of flooding the system at unpredictable times, we shift to smaller, scheduled inputs the body can anticipate. For others it’s perimenopause, protein timing, iron deficiency or sleep timing, recovery debt, or mismatched movement.

We’re not trying to change the past or override biology with discipline.
We meet the body where it is — and ask it to adapt less, so it can become more flexible again.

We study patterns:
fuel timing, sleep, movement, stress, recovery — how your days actually unfold.

Then we intervene precisely, using the smallest effective change that restores predictability and frees up capacity.

Because when biological load comes down, options open up — and progress stops feeling like a fight.

How we help

We don’t do restrictive diets, detoxes, cleanse protocols, or supplement programs. We won’t starve you, sell you powders, or ask you to live on meal replacements.

We’ll help you eat real food in a way that supports your energy, fits your real life, and lowers your long-term risk of chronic disease.

If supplements are medically necessary (like vitamin D or iron), we recommend them based on labs, not trends.

Better looks like this…

1. Define the goal.
We start with the specific problem you want to solve — low afternoon energy, irritability, sugar crashes, poor workout recovery, feeling depleted after work, or anything that’s getting in your way.
This isn’t about fixing your boundaries or your personality. We’re looking at how your body responds to the biologic demands of your day.

2. Assess the biologic inputs and behavioral patterns.
We look at how your day is actually structured: fuel timing, caffeine load, sleep, movement, stress, and workload.
For example: caffeine through the morning, first food at 1–3 pm on workdays, rescue snacking to get through evening tasks, then feeling depleted and frustrated at home.

3. Test a limited set of effective levers.
We intervene with the smallest changes that are likely to matter — not a protocol, not a reset.
Examples: 30 grams of protein in the first 90 minutes of the day, another dose by hour 4, shifting away from fasted workouts, or stabilizing afternoon fuel.

4. Track labs and functional markers over time.
We measure what changes — energy stability, mood, recovery, metabolic labs, daily function — and adjust based on real results, not trends or theories.

This is what primary care was designed to do: address small problems early so they don’t grow into chronic disease burdens.
Our approach allows early intervention using credible tools, minimizes over-treatment, and supports durable change — because it integrates biology with the science of human behavior and adapts both to your real life.

Sarah Bragdon, NP & Ap. Behavioral Scientist

Hi! I’m Sarah! As a primary care clinician and applied behavioral scientist, my clinic is built on the belief that adults function best when their biology is supported.  I blend straightforward medical care with metabolic insight so you can think clearly, make decisions and feel like the best version of yourself.

Sarah Bragdon has been a trusted advisor for me since our very first appointment together. She took time to review the complicated background I gave her. She took her time explaining things to me and also listening to my experience and concerns, helping me understand more about the challenges I have.

We love race day’s and PR’s. We’re also here if you’re feeling stuck and need practical help.  Because helping you understand and take action is the heart of our practice. We are a primary care clinic designed for working adults.

[Sarah] has been instrumental in my wellness journey. She helped me get updated labs, walked me through the results, and built a thoughtful, realistic plan tailored to my needs. But more than that, she listens. She validates my concerns, asks the right questions, and brings a level of compassion that reminds me how far I’ve come. As Sarah said, “your 20-year-old self would be so proud”.
