If you are seeking a better understanding of how the food that you eat and the insulin that you take, affect your glucose levels, then this class is for you. This intensive insulin management program will assist you in learning how to match insulin to your food intake with different therapies that may help you manage your diabetes more effectively and with greater flexibility. Do you want to avoid the roller coaster of high and low glucose readings, then come to the workshop.
Class 1- Intensive Insulin Management Principles: Basal/Bolus Insulin, Introduction to Carbohydrate Counting; proper treatment of Hypoglycemia and Hyperglycemia.
Class 2 - Introduction to use of Insulin to Carbohydrate ratios; Use of a correction / sensitivity factor. How to calculate how sensitive you are to your insulin .Fine Tuning Insulin to Carbohydrate ratios and insulin correction factors; prevention of complications; Introduction to insulin pump therapy.
